He Almost Ran Out Of Money

He Almost Ran Out of Money

Hi, I’m Bradford Ferguson of Halter Ferguson Financial. A few years back, one of my clients, we’ll call him Chris, was spending entirely too much money. It wasn’t the kind of spending you’re probably thinking. He wasn’t taking too many vacations or buying too many things. He wasn’t even living beyond his means. No, he was shelling out money to his children, paying their bills.

While I don’t think anyone will find fault with a generous spirit, and everyone hopes that if they needed a helping hand, family will be there… His generosity left him on the verge of being unable to sustain himself even ten years into retirement.

Thankfully, Chris had us looking out for him. It wasn’t an easy conversation, to sit down with Chris and tell him his future was in jeopardy, but it had to be done. The conversation had to happen and something had to change or very soon the table’s would turn and HE would be asking his KIDS for money.

See, even if your account balance still looked fairly impressive, when you divide that balance by the number of years it has to last, figure in inflation and taxes… Well, then it could NOT be enough to get you through.

A good financial advisor will watch your accounts with an eye towards the future. They will tell you the truth, even if it’s uncomfortable. Even when you may not want to hear it.

If this resonates with you, I welcome you to have a quick call with me. Everyone has something that holds them back, there are many misconceptions out there. Let’s talk about them. Schedule a 15-minute call with us. Once you do we’ll be in touch to help you on the path to financial freedom.
